H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti remains steadfast in her commitment to making Machakos County the cleanest in Kenya, anchored on the belief that true leadership is demonstrated through action.
Under the supervision of the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Hon. Nathanael Nganga and Municipal Manager Mr. Justus Kiteng’u, a coordinated clean-up exercise was successfully conducted at Joska Market. The teams cleared clogged drainage systems, collected litter, and restored order within the market space, creating a safer, healthier, and more dignified environment for traders and residents alike.
The initiative received strong support from the Kenya Red Cross Society and dedicated community volunteers, reflecting a collaborative approach to environmental stewardship.
As part of a sustained environmental management programme, the clean-up exercise will now be conducted every Tuesday and Friday across Tala–Kangundo Municipality. The regular initiative aims to promote public health, enhance environmental responsibility, and foster civic pride among residents.
Through such hands-on interventions, the County Government of Machakos continues to translate policy into action, building cleaner urban spaces and improving the quality of life for its people.
