Machakos Rallies Stakeholders Ahead of 2nd Edition of Machakos Trade Expo

The County Government of Machakos, in partnership with TJ Premier Events and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), convened an Exhibitors’ Breakfast Meeting and media briefing at Machakos Golf Club to fine-tune preparations for the highly anticipated 2nd Edition of the Machakos Trade Expo.

The meeting was graced by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade, Industry, Tourism, SMEs and Innovation, Hon. Sharon Muasya, and brought together key stakeholders from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Participants represented diverse industries including hospitality, tourism, leather, wood carving, weaving, manufacturing, banking, and other enterprise segments.

The upcoming Expo is projected to host over 150 exhibitors and attract more than 3,000 visitors and buyers, providing a dynamic platform for product showcasing, business networking, and market expansion. The breakfast session played a crucial role in aligning stakeholders to fully leverage the Trade Expo as a strategic avenue for marketing products, forging partnerships, and strengthening buyer–seller linkages.

The engagement also reinforced collaboration between the public and private sectors, ensuring a seamless and impactful exhibition experience. Through this coordinated approach, the County aims to accelerate MSME growth and expand market access to regional and international levels.

H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti continues to demonstrate unwavering commitment to supporting youth- and women-led enterprises, notably through initiatives such as the Machakos Youth Service Programme, which nurtures entrepreneurship, skills development, and innovation.

Also in attendance were the Chief Officer for SMEs, Ms. Winnie Musyoki, the Chief Officer for Youth and Sports, Mr. Bruce Isika, alongside other county officials and private sector representatives.

The County Government of Machakos remains steadfast in championing pro-business policies, creating a conducive environment for MSMEs, and affirming that Machakos County is indeed the best place to invest.
