ROLES AND FUNCTIONS
- Developing, managing and implementing Sports& Youth Empowerment policy.
- Promoting and coordinating sports activities and youth training program
- Maintaining and providing comprehensive, inclusive data on youth in Machakos County
- Planning and implementing youth programs
- Encouraging and ensuring youth participation in civic engagement and innovation
- Enabling the youth to access justice at all levels of governance in Machakos County.
- Developing and maintaining sports facilities.
- Establishing and managing sports academies
- Identifying, nurturing, developing and promoting sports talent
Gender & Social Welfare
ROLES AND FUNCTIONS
- Providing child protection support for orphans and vulnerable children
- Offering social welfare support for persons with disabilities (PWD)
- Implementing programs for the mitigation of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and HIV/AIDS
- Supporting women and self-help groups in community development
- Providing social welfare support for the elderly
- Mainstreaming gender and disability issues in all programs
- Offering special program support for needy and vulnerable persons during emergencies and disasters
