H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration continues to strengthen healthcare services to ensure residents of Machakos access quality and specialized treatment closer to home.
Governor Wavinya Ndeti presided over the installation and official launch of a modern laparoscopy tower at the Machakos County Referral Hospital, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of surgical services within the county health system.
The equipment was donated through a partnership between Lariox Healthcare Limited and the Operating Theatre Practitioners Association of Kenya, led by Professor Jani. The County Government of Machakos supported the initiative by facilitating the acquisition of complementary instruments required to fully operationalize the facility.
The new technology will enable medical professionals to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures, which are safer, more precise, and associated with faster patient recovery times. It is also expected to reduce referrals to higher-level facilities and ease pressure on specialized hospitals.
The County Government reaffirmed its commitment to continued investment in health infrastructure, equipping hospitals with modern technology, and expanding access to specialized care for all residents of Machakos County.
