The training has brought together Project Management Committee Members (PMCs) from all wards across Machakos County, with a focus on the key sectors of Water, Agriculture, and Health. The programme is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively participate in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and oversight of county development projects.
The initiative seeks to promote citizen participation, transparency, accountability, and effective project management, ensuring that development programmes respond to the needs and priorities of local communities. It also supports the realization of the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda through inclusive and participatory governance.
The session is being attended by a delegation from the State Department for Devolution led by Dr. Silvia K. Vundi, alongside officials from the Department of Citizen Engagement and Public Participation led by Director Boniface Mutungi. Also present are representatives from the Governor’s Delivery Unit, Ward Administrators, officials from the County Assembly, and PMCs drawn from all wards across Machakos County.
