1,700 Machakos Youth Service Recruits Begin Vocational Training Across the County

A total of 1,700 Machakos Youth Service (MYS) recruits have officially transitioned to various Vocational Training Centres across Machakos County following the successful completion of a rigorous three-week boot camp.

The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, ECDE, Vocational and Skills Training, Dr. Consolata Mutisya, visited Masinga Vocational Training Centre and Matuu Vocational Training Centre to assess the progress of the trainees. She encouraged the youths to remain focused, disciplined, and committed as they prepare for their forthcoming examinations.

The Machakos Youth Service Programme, an initiative championed by H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, is designed to equip young people with practical, market-driven skills that foster self-reliance, expand employment opportunities, and drive sustainable socio-economic growth across the county. Through hands-on training in areas such as Electrical & Electronics, Plumbing, Culinary Arts, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, and more, the programme continues to empower Machakos youth to become productive contributors to their communities.
