A team from the University of Nairobi Department of Geography, Population and Environmental Studies, led by Professor Kivuti Kanyingi, was on a field study of the Nairobi Metropolitan Region to have an institutionalized collaboration and consultancy with Machakos County for the training of students.
Machakos has huge development potential as well as unique challenges that relate to a metropolis, and they welcomed institutions of higher learning to partner with them in addressing the challenges.
