The County Government of Machakos has taken a major step toward strengthening governance, accountability, and service delivery in the health sector following the swearing-in of eleven Level 4 Hospital Boards and 197 Health Facility Management Committees.
Presiding over the ceremony, Governor H.E. Wavinya Ndeti noted that the move is a critical milestone in the county’s ongoing healthcare reforms. The newly sworn-in boards and committees are expected to enhance oversight, promote transparency, and ensure effective management of health facilities across the county.
The initiative is aimed at improving the quality, timeliness, and responsiveness of healthcare services, ensuring that residents of Machakos County can access reliable and people-centred medical care at all levels.
Governor Ndeti pledged her administration’s full support to the boards and committees as they undertake their responsibilities, emphasizing the central role they play in building a modern, accountable, and efficient healthcare system.
