H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti hosted the leadership of Mzalendo Trust in a productive engagement anchored on a shared commitment to the principles of the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
The discussions focused on strengthening citizen engagement and public participation, enhancing transparency and accountability, and promoting the inclusion of special interest groups, particularly youth, women, and persons living with disabilities (PWDs). The meeting also explored the role of technology in improving access to government services and bringing service delivery closer to the people.
In attendance were CECM for Devolution Hon. Annastacia Munyaka; Chief Officer for County Administration, Decentralised Units and Public Participation Mercy Ndululu; Chief Officer for Youth and Sports Bruce Isika; and representatives from Mzalendo Trust led by Executive Director Caroline Gaita. Also present were the Leader of Majority in the Machakos County Assembly, Hon. Nicholas Wangodi, civil society representatives including CSO Point of Contact Philip Mutooni, and Lead Monitoring Body representative Violet Mbiti.
The County Government of Machakos reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships that place citizens at the center of governance, while advancing transparency, accountability, and inclusive development across the county.
