H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti has reaffirmed her administration’s unwavering commitment to building a youth-centered government that creates opportunities, nurtures innovation, and equips young people with the skills required to succeed in a fast-evolving digital economy.
Through the Department of Digital Economy, the Governor presided over the signing of a transformative Memorandum of Understanding with Kilimall International Limited, marking a major milestone in advancing digital inclusion and entrepreneurship in Machakos County.
The strategic partnership aims to empower 1,000 youths through structured training in e-commerce and digital marketing. Participants will acquire hands-on skills in online store management, digital promotion, customer engagement, and business growth strategies. In addition, they will gain access to a national marketplace via the Kilimall platform, alongside mentorship and technical support to help them translate knowledge into sustainable employment and scalable enterprises.
Under the collaboration framework, the County Government will mobilize participants, provide training facilities, and create an enabling ecosystem for digital enterprise. Kilimall will deliver technical training, industry expertise, and market linkages. Both partners will jointly oversee implementation, monitor progress, track trained youth and onboarded businesses, and work collaboratively to position Machakos as a leading hub for e-commerce and digital transformation.
