Governor Wavinya Ndeti Champions Aquaculture to Boost Food Security and Economic Empowerment

H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti has continued to make bold investments in the Blue Economy sector, with a strong focus on aquaculture development and restocking county dams with fingerlings to enhance food security and drive economic empowerment in Machakos.

The county officials led by the CECM for Agriculture, Food Security, Livestock, Fisheries, and Cooperative Development, Hon. Rita Ndunge, together with the Chief Officer for Livestock and Fisheries, Mr. Moses Wambua, and the Chair of the Agriculture Committee in the County Assembly, Hon. Charles Mbuva, participated in the validation of the National Aquaculture Policy Draft 2025 and the Monitoring, Control, and Surveillance Regulations 2025 at the Kabete School of Government, Lower Kabete Campus.

The forum brought together stakeholders from national fisheries and marine agencies alongside county executives from across the country, underscoring Machakos Countyโ€™s commitment to aligning local initiatives with national strategies for sustainable aquaculture, food security, and economic growth.
