Key education stakeholders and development partners today convened in Machakos for a high-level consultative meeting that brought together County Executive Committee Members in charge of Education from various counties to deliberate on strategies aimed at strengthening the education sector.
The forum attracted leading organizations including UNICEF, UK International Development, Aga Khan Foundation, Mizizi Elimu Africa, and The Learning Generation, among others. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between county governments and development partners to expand access to quality education and improve learning outcomes for learners across the country.
Participants explored strategies for aligning county education priorities with national and global development goals, with key emphasis placed on sustainable education financing, innovation in learning delivery, foundational literacy and numeracy, and the promotion of inclusive and equitable education systems that cater to all learners.
The engagement also served as an important platform for sharing best practices, experiences, and innovative approaches that can help transform the education sector across counties.
H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti was represented at the meeting by the CECM for Education, Dr. Consolata Mutisya, reaffirming Machakos County’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and advancing quality, inclusive, and sustainable education for all.
