Machakos County Advances Industrial Growth with CAIP Project Monitoring and Stakeholder Engagement

The County Government of Machakos recently hosted a consultative Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) meeting with representatives from the State Department of Industry and the Council of Governors to assess progress on the County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) project.

Chaired by the Chief Officer for Industry and Innovation, CPA Abdullahi Guliye, the meeting focused on ensuring readiness for the completion and operationalization of the CAIP. Key discussions covered value chain development, stakeholder engagement, technical capacity building on standards, strengthening backward linkages, and strategies to enhance investor uptake.

Once operational, the CAIP is expected to significantly reduce post-harvest losses, promote aggregation and value addition for both local and export markets, and stimulate industrial growth. The initiative will expand economic opportunities, create jobs, and generate wealth, reinforcing H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s vision for sustainable socio-economic transformation in Machakos County.
