Sensitisation Workshop on Corruption and Climate Change Governance.

Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) together with The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC) have jointly conducted Training of Trainers Sensitization Workshop for officers drawn from Climate Change Department on matters relating to corruption and Climate Change governance at Lysak Hotel in Machakos town earlier today.

The objective of this training was to equip officers with Ethics and governance skills on the Management of FLLoCA funds and FLLoCA funded projects. This knowledge will further be cascaded to the Ward Climate Change Planning committees and to the community.

The officers were also trained on corellation between corruption and Climate Change, effects of corruption on Climate Change, promoting transparency and accountability in climate actions and upholding high ethical standards in ensuring that climate initiatives are conducted with integrity and fairness.

While addressing concerns on the effects posed by climate change, EACC Deputy Director Dr. Susan Kanyeki called for the collaboration between the Ethics Commission and the Climate Change Department towards a sustainable future where the environment will be protected,thriving of the local community and mitigation of climate change effects.

The training serves as a crucial platform for promoting ethical standards, combating corruption, and fostering transparency and accountability in climate change initiatives.

In her closing remarks during the workshop, the Chief Officer for Climate Change, Ms.Zipporah Mutunga assured the commission of Department’s commitment to working with all stakeholders, emphasing the need for upholding ethical principles, combating corruption, and promoting transparency and accountability so as to ensure that climate action efforts are conducted with integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
