Our integrated approach to food security has prompted us to explore livestock production as a potential avenue to grow wealth and create jobs in the rural economies.
In the just concluded seeds distribution exercise, the County Government of Machakos under the leadership of Her Excellency Governor Wavinya Ndeti distributed certified pasture seeds to boost pasture production in various regions. This will go a long way in enriching the quality of our livestock products and make them highly competitive in the markets.
Livestock sale yards, modern slaughterhouses, mass vaccination exercises and continuous farmer trainings are some of the notable investments my government has made to support the multi million livestock industry.
