Machakos Governor H.E. Wavinya Ndeti hosted colleague Governors, H.E Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni) and H.E Dr. Julius Malombe (Kitui) for a day-long extraordinary meeting of the South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB) Summit in at her Machakos office. The meeting focussed on various emerging issues affecting the three Ukambani counties.
On the sidelines of the Summit meeting, they met commissioners from the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) where they firmed their position that the ongoing revenue sharing formula consultations will be inconsequential if the funds shared among counties is not adjusted upwards.
As SEKEB Summit leaders, our position is that CRA must acknowledge that funds must follow functions and that revenue sharing must take into consideration the additional risks and pressure on the healthcare faced by SEKEB counties.
