Today’s Walk for Machakos Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Rescue Centre! 🤝💙
I had the honor of representing Machakos Governor HE Excellency Hon Wavinya Ndeti during this incredible event, where we took a walk around Machakos to raise funds for the establishment of the Machakos Gender-Based Violence Rescue Centre. It was a truly empowering and inspiring experience! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Governor Wavinya Ndeti for her unwavering commitment to addressing gender-based violence. Her dedication to setting aside a budget to operationalize the GBV centre is a testament to her vision for Machakos. As she mentioned in her speech, “Machakos will be a place where all genders will be respected, and where perpetrators of gender-based violence will meet the full force of the law.” Let us unite in supporting her efforts! 🙌✨
I would also like to extend my appreciation to Redcross Kenya for partnering with Machakos County and the Inua Dada Foundation, led by the remarkable CEO Janet Mbugua Their collaboration in this campaign not only raised funds but also served as an opportunity to raise awareness and sensitize the public against GBV. Together, we can make a difference and create a safer community for everyone. 💪🌟
Furthermore, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Minister of Transport, Nganga Wa Ngangani, the Minister for Water, catherine Mutanu, the Minister for Agriculture, Joel Nzomo, the Minister for Land, Hon. Philip Mutua Kilonzo, chief of staff, Lawrence Ngovi and all our Chief Officers who attended this event. Your presence and support added immense value and strength to our cause. Moreover, as the Minister of Gender and Social Welfare, I had the privilege on behalf of Excellency to award certificates to the students who raised the highest amount of money towards the GBV Center. Your dedication and contribution are truly commendable, and you serve as an inspiration to others. Thank you for your outstanding efforts!
Lastly, a special shoutout to the Machakos MCAs, led by Majority leader Nzioka Wangondi for their active participation in the walk.
