Today I inspected the refurbished Miwani – New Machakos City road and the Machakos bus park done by the County government of Machakos.
I found a significant number of roads across the county in bad condition.That is why within my first 100 days in office,I initiated the Rapid Response Initiative where we graded 1,325 kilometers across the county.
The Barabara Mashinani Program was done as follows:
1.Machakos 292.8 kilometers
2.Kathiani 94.3 Kilometers
3.Mwala 134.9 kilometers
4.Yatta 233.6 kilometers
5.Masinga 208.8 kilometers
6.Matungulu 155.2 kilometers
7.Kangundo 100.6 kilometers
8.Mavoko 100.6 kilometers
All works must be up to standards and I urge all contractors to ensure we get value for money. Public funds must be utilized for the benefit of the taxpayers.
We will not hesitate to blacklist any contractor who in any way breaches the terms of contract. We have funds to ensure we promptly pay contractors who do a good job.
