MWALAKHA M. MUNIAFU, also known as VICTOR MUNIAFU, is a freelance Location Fixer/Cast Co-ordinator/ Transport Manager and Production Manager in the Film Industry.
He is the current Ag. Chief Officer, Tourism and Culture, also the Chief Executive Officer Machawood Entertainment Board and Chairman of the Kenya Film and TV Professional Association (KFTPA), an association that brings together professionals working in the film and TV industry.
Mr. Muniafu has vast experience in Event Management having planned, managed and executed various events/promotions and product launches as a Team Leader at Professional Marketing Services. Some of the major accounts whose projects he has handled include EABL, BAT(K) LTD, Saralee, Reckitt Benkiser, Colgate Palmolive among others.
In the Filming business, Mr. Muniafu has worked as a fixer on several documentaries for Zuku Sports/Setanta Africa, BBC/Comic Relief, SBS Dateline, Half The Sky and many more in Kenya and the greater East African region. He has worked as a Production Manager, Casting Director, Cast Extras co-ordinator, Location Co-ordinator/ Manager and Transport Captain/ Manager on various TV Commercials, Films and TV series including ‘The Constant Gardener’, ‘To Walk With Lions’, ‘Beseiged’, Survivor Africa, Cobra Squad, Beba Beba, ‘The Slave’ and many more. Some of the TVCs include Pilsner, Guinness, Kenya Power, Tusker Lager, Ariel, Sony Bravia, Uchumi etc.
In his 22-year working experience (including 15 in the film industry), Mr. Muniafu has attended short training courses and seminars in Rugby refereeing/Game Management, Marketing, Life Skills, Counselling, Management and Mentorship. Through the skills acquired he has trained/mentored a great number of rugby referees, event marketing team leaders and other middle-level managers currently working in the corporate world.
