Yesterday afternoon, I continued with my development tours.
I visited the site where we are putting up infrastructure for the Machakos New City. The ongoing development includes an ongoing office blocks, a fire station, a comercial zone, community trading area, public education zone, bus park, a soccer/rugby stadium, conference centre, motor racing track and the Machakos Regional Airport.
For the airport, the design features a runway, terminal building, warehouses for goods and cold rooms among other airport associated amenities.
The airport will be critical in promoting aviation – flying schools, airplane parking space, manufacturing and transport zones among many other services that will provide employment and grow the local economy.
My main aim is to grow the regional economy through trade, and one of my greatest desire is to see our youth get jobs, see our business people grow and to see our farmers market their produce in the international market.
Machakos is moving from one level of glory to another and success has been and shall remain our greatest portion in the land of the living.
I later inspected the comercial and public space area which will be one of our top tourist attractions.
Machakos is today a top tourist destination which is why my Government is investing heavily in this quick shilling industry.
I am excited that by the end of this year, in addition to the massive agriculture programs, dams, boreholes, infrastructure development and even stadiums that we are building, Machakos will always remains the place to be.
