The County Government of Machakos through the Department of Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Energy carried out a clean-up exercise within Machakos Town.
The exercise in partnership with the Uwezo College, started at the institution before proceeding to the market and winding up at the Machakos Social Hall.
The clean-up is in recognition that a clean environment bears positive social and economic benefits. It is essential for the human health, safety, and well-being of the residents of this great County. In general, a clean environment will improve the overall quality of life of the citizens. We all take pride in a clean surrounding.
To maintain a clean environment, it calls for co-operation from all of us. Let us cultivate a culture of managing waste. Don’t litter expecting someone else to clean after you. Cleanliness requires personal discipline. Let us do it because we can.
