My final stop of the day was Kituluni Vocational Training Centre, where i inspected the progress of the ongoing dormitory construction.
The dormitory will enable more students to board at the institution, which will allow for better concentration in school without external influences.
Training is FREE in all 40 vocational training centers in Machakos County. I am happy that most of the students have set their sights on self employment after their training which is key in our fight against youth unemployment across the country.
I interacted with the current students at the school who are very happy with the training they are receiving; from mechanical training, dressmaking, masonry, hairdressing, hospitality, plumbing to carpentry.
I encourage youth in Machakos to enroll for this FREE training so as to ensure that they have a marketable skill under their belt and to be empowered citizens of the county who have the power to fight against leaders who want to misuse them for their own selfish benefit during election periods.
