I have asked my Deputy Governor, H.E.
Eng. Francis Maliti
to lead a team to investigate claims that some of our MACHAKOS health facilities lack adequate commodities and some patients are being asked to go and purchase medicines from outside. I suspect sabotage, management failures and cartels.
My Government provides 100% FREE Health care, even for surgeries, hospitalization and even cancer treatment. Quality treatment should not only be for the rich. I am fed up of cartels and officers who try to sabotage my work with all manner of excuses so as to benefit private clinics.
Resources from the National Government have delayed for several months now but this should not be an excuse to take advantage of the poverty of my people. Whether these saboteurs like it or not, my people will receive quality, efficient and FREE health care in Machakos.
The challenge we have in Kenya is that some public officials who should be having sleepless nights sorting out the challenges of our people have a laissez-faire attitude.
Governments have more money than companies – why then is provision of services mathogothanio? Wataniona.
I urge Wananchi who have become victims to these unscrupulous officials to inform my village, ward and sub county administrators. I assure you that as your leader, I will protect the gains that I have made and which have made MACHAKOS the beacon of healthcare in Kenya and the region.
