This morning, I was honored to host the controller of budget CPA Dr. Margaret Nyakang’o in my Machakos office. She was accompanied by her team from Nairobi and Machakos.
The office of the controller of budget has been conducting research on development projects in Machakos.
During our meeting, we discussed the development program for Machakos and the Maendeleo chap chap ideology and economic programs that has seen us dig 646 boreholes, 381 dams and pans, over 100 kms of tarmacked roads, 2000 kms of graded roads and over 500kms of gravelled roads, our universal health care that has free ambulances, a Machakos cancer center and much more.
We also discussed the challenges facing us, from budgetary constraints that would enable us do more for our people and delays in disbursements from treasury.
I welcome Madam Nyakang’o to Machakos and her team to Machakos county, the place to be.
