Governor's Office|

I have today continued with my development tours across the county in Mbiuni, Mwala Sub County and Kawethei in Kangundo Sub County.
Good road infrastructure remains the best way to open up previously inaccessible regions for business. Machakos County continues to be the leading county in road construction with over 90 kilometers of tarmacked and over 3,000 kilometres of graded road network.

I have instructed engineers from our department of Roads and Public works to begin survey of the five-kilometre stretch from Kabaa and Mbiuni market in preparation for tarmacking. As an agricultural zone, this road will be instrumental to our farmers, boost business activities in the area as well as create employment for our youth. We will also pave the Mbiuni market area and create good sheds for our traders and their farm produce.

In Kawethei, the department of Roads and public works will also undertake a survey of the road linking Kangundo Town to Kawethei for tarmacking in the next financial year. Cabro works in Kawethei and Kakuyuni markets will also be a priority in the next financial year.

Service to the people is the spirit of Maendeleo Chap Chap, and my government will continue to serve the great people of Machakos so as to elevate their quality of life for themselves, their children and future generations.

My vision for Machakos and Kenya, will, by God’s grace, become a reality.
Inawezekana Na Itawezekana.

Dr. Alfred N. MUTUA, EGH
Governor of Machakos,
Maendeleo Chap Chap Party Leader & 2022 Presidential Candidate.
