Governor Wavinya Breaks Ground for Market Construction

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has vowed she will continue to collaborate with the National Government in the efforts to deliver development for the county residents.

Wavinya has also cautioned politicians against meddling in the affairs of development, warning petty politicking will not serve the interests of Machakos residents.

Addressing residents in Masinga town during the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of a modern market under the Economic Stimulus Program (ESP), the Machakos county boss declared her administration will remain focussed on fulfilling her pre-election pledges to the county residents and that she will not be derailed by political sideshows.

“I have no time for petty politics, and I urge politicians to keep off retrogressive politicking because our main aim is to serve the electorate,” she said.

Wavinya said through the strategic partnership with the National Government, some eight modern markets will be constructed across the county.

The current phase of construction will see three markets constructed in Mutituni, Kithimani and Masinga. The markets will feature an exclusive arena for lactating mothers to attend to their babies while at work.

Yatta DCC, Lilian Njagi lauded the collaboration between the two levels of Government, terming it a progressive approach to development.
