Development Needs/Issues

Strategies

Energy and Electrification

-Insecurity in Urban areas and market centres

-High power bills

-Low power distribution and Connectivity

-Dependency of conventional energy sources E.g wood for fuel

-Lack of policies to regulate the sector

-Inadequate Budgetary provisions

-Installation of streetlight

-Installation of Market floodlights

-Promoting of renewable energies ( solar, Wind, Biomass, small hydros)and Replacicing high power consuming bulbs with LED

-Installation of transformers

– partnering with PPPs to Produce power using locally available resources and distributing power in areas with no access to national grid

– Formulating Policies and regulations to govern the energy sector

-Promoting of alternative clean and renewable energy sources.

– Lobby for extra funds and source for PPPs
