Department of Education Meets CS Moses Kuria.

Today, an important consultative meeting took place at the office of the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Moses Kuria, attended by a distinguished delegation from the Machakos County Government. The delegation was led by Dr. Consolata Mutisya, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, ECDE, Vocational, and Skills Training; John Kilonzo, the CECM for Gender, Youth, Sports, and Social Welfare; and Stephen Mulei, Chief Officer for Vocational and Skills Training.

The primary agenda of the meeting revolved around the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership between the National Youth Service (NYS) and Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) in Machakos County, termed the NYS-VTC MASHINANI partnership. It’s noteworthy that Machakos County boasts 43 VTCs, reflecting the county’s commitment to skills development and empowerment

One of the key objectives of the NYS-VTC MASHINANI partnership is to enhance the quality of training provided in VTCs by upgrading it to diploma level through the introduction of new courses. This strategic collaboration aims to equip youth with relevant skills that are essential for their socio-economic empowerment and integration into the workforce.
