The primary agenda of the meeting revolved around the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership between the National Youth Service (NYS) and Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) in Machakos County, termed the NYS-VTC MASHINANI partnership. It’s noteworthy that Machakos County boasts 43 VTCs, reflecting the county’s commitment to skills development and empowerment
One of the key objectives of the NYS-VTC MASHINANI partnership is to enhance the quality of training provided in VTCs by upgrading it to diploma level through the introduction of new courses. This strategic collaboration aims to equip youth with relevant skills that are essential for their socio-economic empowerment and integration into the workforce.
