This was a great day that the Lord has made. I hosted H.E President William Ruto and the deputy President, H.E Rigathi Gachagua for an interdenominational prayer and thanks-giving service organized by the United Clergy at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos town.
I thank our religious leaders for organizing such a wonderful ceremony whose main aim was to give thanks to God for the great things He has done for our beloved country, Kenya. Seeing the people of Kenya through a peaceful electioneering and transition was a blessing for all of us.
My message to the Akamba community before the clergy and our national leaders was very categorical: That unity of purpose is critical for our development and progress as a community. I have also urged the citizens of this country not to allow divisive politics to derail peaceful coexistence with each other. Citizens must remember that politicians change with situations and circumstances and must therefore be wise never to be misused by self-seeking leaders.
Together with my deputy, Hon Francis Mwangangi, we have committed to work closely and in collaboration with President William Ruto’s Government in order to ensure Machakos residents achieve what they need to transform their livelihoods.
God bless Kenya, God bless Machakos.
